Our daughter was seen by Dr. Bugenske back in March 2017 for vision problems. She had her vision test and her eyes were dilated. The Dr. saw her and gave her a prescription to have glasses. We filled the prescription for new glasses (fyi: the eye glass center was wonderful, the staff there is very friendly.) However, once we got the glasses, our daughter did not want to wear them. She was seen by her pediatrician approx. a week after getting the glasses for just a reg. yearly checkup. He did a vision test and felt that she could see better without the glasses while looking at the vision chart vs. with them on. After showing him the prescription given from Advanced Eye Center and seeing her try to read with the glasses on, he felt that we needed to have a second opinion done at a pediatric ophthalmologist...just to double check. After taking her to a pediatric ophthalmologist in Gainesville, we learned that the original prescription was significantly off. We had to have her lenses re-done (again the staff at the vision/glasses center were wonderful about having them fixed as quickly as possible.) I was bothered by the fact that the numbers in the first prescription were not accurate, and I am very thankful that her new ped. opthalmoligist did a much thorough check on her eyes. Fast foward to a little after a month of our appt....we received another bill from Advanced Eye Center asking for an extra $100+ that our ins. did not cover. We talked with the front office and explained the situation of how the prescription was NOT accurate, and our daughter could not see out of the glasses originally ordered. After leaving messages, the Dr. felt that apparently our daughters vision numbers must have changed between the time she saw her, and the time we took her for the second opinion (which was within a two week period....) We of course paid the additional amt. of the bill, but felt there was zero sympathy or willingness to work with us on reducing the bill. Just wanted to post for any parent who is looking to take your children here...please look around and DO NOT make an appt. with them. The glasses dept. is wonderful, the regular office...not so much. I normally don't write reviews, but definitely felt this was necessary. Oh, and by the way...with her new prescription she has never had an issue with not wanting to wear them, thankfully.
Best eye care I have ever gotten. Staff is friendly and attentive, and much, much better than the eye care chains. Worth the drive from Suwanee.
I would recommend this place to everyone. All my family and friends use this place for their eye care. The optical department is very good but the prices are very high, check around and compare prices before you purchase your glasses. I buy mine here.
Best eye doctor I have ever been to! I will definitely be making all of my future appointments with them! The front office staff, clinical staff, and doctor was extremely friendly professional and caring! Melissa with the lenses center was extremely caring and helpful with making a decision on new frames! She was awesome!
Horrible! They have this crazy woman named Rita, who is super rude, stay away from her if you have to go here, there are better eye centers in Gainesville. She's fell off her rocking chair. Staff is very rude and unfriendly, I think they just hire anyone they can get off the streets.
