It is almost impossible to reach or speak with a "real person" at the Heart Center in Gainesville, no matter what time of day you call or what day of the week. Having to listen to recordings over and over and not being able to talk with someone makes it very difficult for a hearing impaired person to make an appt. or to cancel one, especially if the recording isn't loud enough or is spoken too fast for someone with a hearing problem to understand the message being given. The Center needs to hire someone to answer the phones and they need a line for the hearing impaired. Every time I have to call there for any reason, it's one of the most frustrating and annoying experiences I've ever had, which isn't good for a heart patient!! And even when you get someone on the line, they are often rude. The Heart Center needs an administrative shake-up, and sooner rather than later!
Receptionist has no customer service skills. We were turned away from an appointment to which we were scheduled saying we were 30 mins. late. Found the printed appointment sheet after we returned home from the one hour drive showing the scheduled time as the time we arrived. We were told the doctor had a business meeting and could not work us in!
Excellent physicians and nursing staff overall. Very progressive growth and sustainment model. Progressional management. Great care of my family and I every time I've been here, from ER to admission and testing. It is busy so you likely will have a wait, but that is due to shear volume of people and what resources are available at a given time.
Phone reception is horrible. Called to reschedule an appointment they made that happened to be on my birthday. The receptionist told me I either take that appointment or they didn't have anything else. So I asked what was the next available...she said they where so busy they didn't have anything open at all...raiset is after my last appointment of waiting for 2 hours to see the doctor for 4 minutes. I told her I can change doctors and office. Not a problem. Is sad to see patient care and courtesy dismissed over who runs the front desk.
