I started my trucking career in 1992 when I graduated from truck drivers institute out of Sellersburg Indiana. I have worked for 8 different companies since then. I can only compare my driving experience at Tribe to the other companies I worked for. Tribe is the worst company of them all. They employ incompetent people to dispatch, manage, and plan loads for drivers. I can only tell my story from my experience at Tribe. Let me start by explaining why I feel this way. First of all. I started my employment at Tribe on 3-23-16. I quit on 3-22-17. About 2 months into my employment I knew I was at the wrong company, but was determined to stay for one year regardless of the situation. Tribe claims they pay layover pay if they don't dispatch you after 24 hours of unloading. My driver manager told me I would get layover pay 13 times from September until I resigned. I never received any layover pay 125.00 per day for the 13 days I was expecting. Another problem I encountered was missing mileage pay on one of my loads. Todd Gooch offered drivers 250.00 bonus to work thru Christmas and New Years Holidays. I cancelled any hometime requests and worked. Facts are I only had 8 hometime days in 364 days of employment. I never received my Bonus for working thru the holidays. Another time I was asked to drive from Monrovia IN to Louisville KY to pick up a wagon at a repair shop. Then deadhead to Chicago for a reload next day, my driver manager claimed I would get paid for the miles but that was a lie. I was also asked to get PM done on 3 reefer units and told I would get paid 93.00 for each PM. Never happened. So after getting lied to and not receiving my pay, I become a very disgruntled and frustrated to the point that I wanted a load to the yard to get my payroll straight after getting shorted for 6 months. I went to driver manager Keith Nelson with a list of all the miles I got shorted and maintenance pays and layover pays and bonus pays and detention pays I never received. The only problems I presented at that time were the ones that a Tribe employee said I would get paid for. These payroll corrections add up to over $2000.00 of earned wages not paid to me. So it's screw the driver. This is what happened to me working for Tribe 364 days. Currently I have been in contact with the Georgia Department of Labor over my missing earned wages and am considering legal action against Tribe to recover my earned wages not paid to me. Why did Tribe treat me this way is unknown. I had turned down jobs at UPS and Fed Ex to give them a try. Over 3 million miles and 25 years of experience doesn't mean anything to them. You would think driver retention would be a focus point of their company. Not the case with me. I had no choice but to resign, the longer I stayed the more pay they cheated me out of. Anyone considering working for this company should beware. I received a resignation notice from Tribe stating I voluntarily resigned and that my average pay was 849.00 per week for the whole year I was employed. According to my IRS filings. This was the lowest income I ever received in my 25 year career in the trucking industry as a driver. I would never recommend anyone to work here. You gotta be a total braindead loser to think this company is something to brag about. This is a broker freight company. The company drivers get the leftovers that no one wants. Every load I picked up was a day or 2 late upon arrival. Too bad no one else took the load. That's when the company driver gets dispatched to pick up the load. This company is pathetic and anyone who drives here and thinks this is a good company obviously has no experience anywhere else or they would know the difference. If you want a $400 net pay every week after deductions, then this is the place for you. Ambitious and determined drivers wishing to better themselves need avoid this place. Worst place I ever worked. Maybe I expect more than most, but this company never came close to fulfilling my needs. I just got cheated and ripped off.
I have been driving since the latter part of '98. I have been a contractor and/or mostly ran for smaller family owned operations. I am here to say ...I believe I have finally found a home ~

People are wonderful. They care about you. And they believe family comes first.
Your drivers are purposefully leaving their high beams on while driving. Apparently quite a few of them think they're exempt from the law.
I've been trucking for 18+ yrs. Been both a company guy and an owner op. I came here 3 yrs ago on a trial basis to check them out. STILL HERE! If you understand transportation and you take your job seriously, I strongly recommend you give us a call. Professionalism is everything. You can take it from me.... MEAN WHAT YOU SAY AND SAY WHAT YOU MEAN. You do this and you WILL NOT experience what others have posted. It has been my experience that the "steering wheel holders" not the professionals cause and have the problems here. If you can stand on your own and not need your hand held like a child, we have a truck for you. For all the others, look elsewhere. BE SAFE AND GOD BLESS!
