I have tried calling the actual office and the joke of a 1-888 number on the food card and never get an answer or I remain on hold til the phone lines close.... It would be nice to be able to call and speak to an actual human being.... I have a 2yr old and 1yr old and I don't ever want to bring them back to that office due to no changing table and the cleanliness of the place... I was afraid my kids were gonna catch something that Ajax won't scrub off...A LOT of these issues with this particular office is very disheartening because it makes you wonder where your tax money is going in this county because it sure as heck isn't going to this disgustingly, rude, hostile, lazy and poor excuse for help when a person hits hard times....we will be sending our Governor a letter and photos of your disgusting restrooms with no changing table and how horrid the cleanliness of this building over all is... I hate giving a star at all... There needs to be negative stars on here.
This is the most unorganized establishment I have ever seen. Been trying to get insurance and food stamps for my kids and keep getting denied. Why? Cuz of the paperwork that I've sent them time and time again. Or I miss the appointment time cuz they seem to always send you the appointment in the mail a day after they are suppose to call. But even then I still haven't had any missed calls. It's like they send the appointment time saying they will call late on purpose so they don't have to call you. And as for the insurance for my kids I keep getting denied for, well one of my children is disabled and is eligible for Medicare no matter what and when I ask this question they can't give me a straight answer, ever. This been going on for 6 months plus. So not only have I been dealing with this b.s., but I've been under investigation for almost the last five yrs with nothing found and every case worker that comes out is a different person usually from another County. I have done everything they have asked and when I ask them to help me with my stamps and insurance I just seem to get ignored. I thought they were here to help families in need, instead they seem to hinder you make you jump through hoops,send them paperwork over and over again and throw threats of removing your children from your custody! For what though? Cuz they can't do their job! That's the only reason I can come up with cuz everything they have acussed me of has been proven time and time again that it's all b.s! My kids have a roof over their head, heat,ac,food,running water, a bed to sleep in and a room of their own so there isn't no room sharing between them. No bruises, bumps or any other damn thing wrong with them at all. They are very healthy, very social and attend school on a regular basis. So why don't you just help me like your suppose to and go find someone else to harass that might actually need to be checked on
The staff is very rude and unhelpful. This is suppose to be about children right!! The name stats it: department of family and children services. They're are two restrooms here that neither one have changing tables in. Then when I asked where could I change the baby (3wks old) The staff said idk not my problem. Poor poor poor customer service. I guess they want me to leave the baby in the dirty diapers. I think not
This system has failed so many people who need assistance and Lord knows how many children it has failed due to incompetence, yet these same people still have their jobs. I am sure that there are those who are truly overworked, but only because they give it their all every day. However, there are also those that use that as an excuse to cover up their ineptitude to do the job they were hired for.
I work, pay taxes and make sure my children grow up to be productive, decent human beings in society, so I am not just sitting around waiting for handouts. However, services like this make that way of living look more attractive and maybe then will I, and others like me, get a phone call taking care of what is needed.
I turned in paperwork earlier this year pertaining to separation from a previous job and the salary verification from my current employer. The copy of my lease from my residence has been turned in six times - one for each year I have lived there. I then receive a notice that my benefits have been denied because I failed to turn in my paperwork and gave moved!
My benefits are due on the 7th of the month. In August, when I didn't receive any, I went through the lovely, joke of a phone service that our state has for assistance. I left a message for my assigned caseworker, Rhonda LaPointe. Being the helpful person she is, my phone call was NEVER returned (even now 1 1/2 months later, there still has not been a call). I have been in contact with her supervisor who has promised three times that I would get a call. Have I received one from another person, NOT ONE!
Will not answer the phone at all at anytime during their office hours. What's the point in paying these people for a job their not doing...
